Gunia Gunko was born in Kaliningrad (Russia) in 1980. Graduated faculty of painting arts of Federal University of Kaliningrad in 2002.
Her first exhibition was demonstrated in Central Art Gallery of Kaliningrad in 1999. Later on, in 2004 she had exhibition her work in a private exhibition called “Between the Chairs”, taking place in St. Petersburg. In May 2006 Gunia took part in exhibition “Saint Petersburg - Jerusalem”.
Gunia Gunko’s pictures are mostly performed in the primitivism style.
Gunia sees Jerusalem as a city of black and white, while Tel Aviv is a city bursting with colour.
“Gunia’s works represent the simultaneous bond between dreams and reality. On the one hand there is an illustration of dreams, but on the other, we see regular subjects very familiar to us in our every day reality - our life…”
